Case for samsung fold 4 with MagEZ

Do we have plans for fold 4 cases with MagEZ support?

Hello Konstantin,
Thanks for your inquiry. We thought about including the Galaxy Z Fold4 in our magnetic product system, but it didn’t work the way we wanted.

Unlike other smartphones, Fold4, combining two displays, is obviously larger and heavier. To make it magnetic or MagSafe compatible, we could embed magnets on the back of either display. The problem is our MagSafe car mounts or chargers and all MagSafe accessories in the market are designed for phones or cases with regular-sized align magnets. That means we can only magnetically attach one side of the Fold4 to the car mount or other accessories, which doesn’t look good or work well. For example, imagine we attach the Fold4 to the MagEZ Car Mount Pro. The phone could easily fall off the car mount since only one side is attached to the mount. If we attach a power bank to the Fold4, the phone becomes thicker and harder to hold, especially when we fold it.

In conclusion, since making the Fold4 magnetic or MagSafe compatible doesn’t give us more convenience like we do with iPhone 14 or other phones, we decided to offer the ultra-slim Air Case instead. Without magnets, Air Case is much lighter and thinner, with a thickness of 0.5mm, giving your beautiful Fold4 a near case-less look and feel.

It is a pity that you could not “make friends” cases with your system of magnets. I will wait and hope that you can solve it.

I don’t quite understand the technical problem, why it was not possible to introduce a magnet into the fold 4 case. For example, yours car mount, it supports all versions of iPhones with the magsafe function, the heaviest of them is the iphone pro max, it weighs 240 grams, and the fold 4 weighs 263 grams, the difference between them is only 23 grams. Are you saying that your car mount won’t hold that much weight? Or I do not understand?

Let me explain to you clearly, if we attach the Fold 4 to the MagEZ Car Mount Pro, the phone will easily fall down as one side is attached on the Car Mount Pro, and another side has nothing to attach. Also, if we attach a power bank to the Fold 4, It will be much heavier and thicker for the customers to hold.

Actually, to be fair, I do see advantages in MagEz case in Z fold 4, for instant, most of the time I am using my Z fold 4 Horizontally, for navigation or social media alike when commuting. Therefore with the second half of the screen on top instead of dangling at the side, it kinda able to balance out the weight distribution (and yes I did face similar issue when the second display is at the side but normally I use it with second half pointing up) and when closed, it’s inconvenient to have powerbank stuck to the back, but I do have slim wallet that don’t add much weight not height and had been using it at the back of my Z fold.
