Since buying an iPhone X a few years back I invested in a case and magnetic CD slot mount. I was very impressed with the design and function of the system and it provided years of protection. Some time later I retrofitted my car with a wireless Apple CarPlay. As I no longer needed to view the phone directly, I then converted the CD Slot mount to charge the phone in the armrest caddy. Removed the CD mounting, drilled a hole through the floor of the caddy and utilised the adjusting nut to hold the mount securely on the floor of the caddy. I now just throw the phone under the armrest to charge it. Works beautifully.
I am about to upgrade my phone to an iPhone 13 Pro. If I understand correctly, any cases you now sell for the iPhone 13 Pro are incompatible with the mount I spent hours installing in the arrest caddy. 🤬Is this correct?
May I ask, what is the limit of this incompatibility? If I put a new iPhone13 Pro, with your new case, on my old horizontally mounted magnetic charger will it refuse to charge? Repel the phone (like pole magnets)? I really don’t want to spend more hours pulling the car apart to change chargers because you guys have changed your mind and created a backwards compatibility issue.
