You could have offered two versions of each case (MagEZ 1 and MagEZ 2), or you could offer a buy-back program.
Instead, you decide to build a whole new ecosystem, with complete disregard for loyal customers who supported you from the beginning.
Remember Latercase vs Pitaka? You won that fight because you had early adopters on your side. Well, now you are competing on an even larger (MagSafe) market. Are you sure you want to throw these loyal customers under the bus?
I contacted support and was offered a 15% discount on new chargers. While I appreciate the intention, even with 15% off, Pitaka chargers are above the average cost of MagSafe chargers (of which there are many, some with unique features), so I don’t see any reasons to stick with Pitaka.
It’s really disappointing when companies decide to put money first and customers second. And it’s usually the beginning of the end.
